2025/04/23
To the members of Transcultural Management Society
Emiko Magoshi, President, Transcultural Management Society
Chieko Matsuda, Diversity & Governance Session Chair
On Saturday, March 1, 2025, the fourth symposium of the Diversity & Governance Session (D&G Session) was successfully held. We are pleased to report that 76 participants registered, contributing to a dynamic and engaging discussion. We sincerely appreciate the support of all association members, whose efforts made this gathering possible. Additionally, thanks to member introductions, numerous guests joined us, further enriching the symposium. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved.
This year, we introduced a student session focused on doctoral candidates, featuring a research presentation by Atsuko Suzuki, a doctoral student at Tokyo Metropolitan University Graduate School. Following this, insightful lectures and presentations on various aspects of corporate governance were delivered. Associate Professor Takashi Izumi from the Entrepreneurship Program at Otaru University of Commerce Graduate School, Mr. Hajime Matsukura, Corporate Secretary and Director at NEC Corporation, and Ms. Akiko Ryu Innes-Taylor, Executive Officer at Otsuka Holdings Co., Ltd., each shared valuable insights based on their experiences and expertise.
The discussions covered critical topics such as board diversity and leadership development, significantly contributing to the division's collective knowledge. We look forward to more presentations from our members in the future.
